There are many festivals that take place in Chicago over the course of the year, but few match the month of May in terms of fun, variety, and enjoyment. Celebrating its 21st year, Chicago’s Mayfest is the big kickoff event for the summer which leads to a number of great festivals over the next few months.

The main stage is under the big top so that you can enjoy the bands without the threat of bad weather. Plus, you can partake of the many offerings from the beer garden while enjoying some of the best local music in all of Chicago. It is also Chicago Kids Day with health and wellness activities designed just for them.
Enjoying its seventh year, the Mole de Mayo will feature local chefs from the Chicago area competing to see which one can create the best Mole, a staple of the Mexican diet.

Held in the historic Pilsen district, this outdoor festival will also feature many local businesses as well as an open-air market. There will be two stages for live entertainment which will include music and dancing. You’ll also get to enjoy the feats of the lucha libre wrestlers as they entertain one and all with their exhibition of professional wrestling.
A very popular festival that signals the beginning of summer activities in the region, this is one of the favorite Chicago May festivals thanks to the wonderful music it provides.

This is the 32nd year for the annual festival which offers a number of treats starting with the area’s top tribute bands playing your favorite songs. Plus, there are plenty of food, beverages, and arts and crafts that make this a complete experience for one and all.
