Of the many social media sites available, LinkedIn is arguably the best for the real estate professional. One of the first tasks that Realtors and investors should do is start building a real estate LinkedIn profile in order to become established and credible.

There are hundreds of good reasons why a real estate professional should create a LinkedIn profile.  Here are just a few:

–       Branding

–       Establish Credibility

–       Inbound & Outbound Marketing Opportunities

–       Engage with Clients and Customers

–       Generate Leads

–       Build Networks

–       Recruit

–       Bring in Investors

–       Source Vendors

–       Establish SEO

With over 400 million users so far, LinkedIn has become the social media choice for the professional in many different fields. Follow the following steps to create a great LinkedIn profile.

Step 1 – Enter Your Name

You should use your full name if possible, one that people can Google and find your LinkedIn account. In this manner, you can separate your more personal social media accounts that do not use your full name or use aliases.  You will want to make sure that people have a way to connect with you as well so put your best contact information on your LinkedIn profile.

Step 2 – Fill Out the Profile

This means that you’ll need to put in your work history and the different jobs that you held. Even if the employment you had before becoming a real estate professional is a different field that can be advantageous as many clients and customers appreciate a diverse background.  In addition, you’ll want to add a good personal photo and a proper background header that matches your branding efforts. Also, fill out the background summary with the best description of what you do and how you can help others.

Step 3 – SEO

Remember to use the right keywords, proper spelling, and good grammar when filling out the information. Effective search engine optimization techniques are all a part of building a real estate LinkedIn profile, so you want to ensure that all content which includes the summary and taglines have the right keywords to help attract new business.

Step 4 – Notable Projects and Recommendations

To show your relevant work, list the real estate deals or projects that you have been associated with since starting out. You will want to list any notable companies, buildings, or well known agents or participants in the real estate field. In addition, include any charitable projects and other, similar types of achievements to help balance out your profile.  You should get testimonials and recommendations from past clients.

Step 5 – Publish Good Relative Content

The more solid material that you publish through your LinkedIn feed, the better it will speak about your authority in the real estate field. This means putting up posts that are informative, relevant, and with the right keywords to help attract a new audience. Blogging on LinkedIn is a great way to interact with other users on LinkedIn.

In addition, you’ll want to include any special information such as if you speak a different language, who you follow on LinkedIn, augmenting the number of connections you have created, additional skills, and any endorsements that you may have received. When it comes to building a real estate LinkedIn profile that really stands out, you will need to do everything possible to make it attractive to potential customers and clients.
